1978 - Landstars first home is built in Buenaventura Lakes, a Planned Unit Development located in Osceola County in Central Florida. With ultimate plans for more than 7,000 homes, Buenaventura Lakes positions Landstar as a major real estate developer in Florida.
1982 - Development begins in Meadow Woods located in OrangeCounty. The Development of Regional Impact (DRI) is planned for approximately 8,000 homes, mostly single-family. Included within this project are progressive schools, successful commercial projects and retail centers, as well as recreational amenities.
1984 - Landstar creates, owns and manages Orange Osceola Utilities, Inc., a water and sewer service for more than 20,000 residents in North Osceola County.
1986 - Landstar builds on its Florida presence with ground-up start of a South Florida division.
1989 - Landstar introduces Cypress Lakes Villages followed in later years by Bear Bay Village and Quail Ridge. Located on adjacent land to Buenaventura Lakes and Meadow Woods, these communities add more then 1,200 residences to the area.
1990 - Together, the Central Florida and South Florida divisions deliver more than 1,000 homes.
1993 - The GreeneWay, a major expressway connecting northeast Seminole County to southwest Osceola County in Central Florida opens, passing directly through Meadow Woods making this a prime site for commercial as well as residential growth.

1994 - Landstar ventures west entering the Dallas, Texas market and accelerates its growth by opening a new division.
1995 - Churchill Crossing in Flower Mound, Texas becomes Landstar's first community in one of the state's fastest growing areas. The premiere Texas community is completed with nearly 200 homes.
1996 - The Central Florida division earns the Grand Award in the Home Builders Associations Parade of Homes competition. This award positions Landstar as the top builder in the area of luxury, production homes.
1999 - The Central Florida Division purchases the remaining land in Cypress Springs on the east side of Orlando. Landstar completes its development including approximately 800 homesites and commercial tracts. Construction of the homes was completed in 2004.
The Dallas division is awarded the honor of designing and building the New American Home for the National Association of Home Builders annual convention.
2000 - The Sales and Marketing Council of the Greater Dallas Home Builders Association presents Landstar Homes with the prestigious Builder of the Year Award.
Pushing northward to Seminole County, the Central Florida division purchases the Preserve at Astor Farms. Environmentally sensitive, this beautiful piece of land is planned for approximately 275 residences.
2002 - Landstar becomes a major developer in Homestead, Florida when it begins the development of Waterstone. With ultimate plans for more than 2,000 homes, Waterstone will appeal to a variety of homebuyers.
2003 - Landstar in Central Florida wins seven Parade of Homes Awards for its entries in the Home Builders Association of the Metro Orlando awards competition. This is the most awards won by any one single builder in the competition. The Texas division launches the expansion of its design line to include townhomes and attached villas.
